I chose to make a short film based upon revenge as we see an endangered woman murdered by her boyfriend,,, or is she? As we see a plot twist when she awakes just after her attempted murderer has escaped. Inspired by other horror/thrillers I chose to tackle this genre as it is popular with my target audience and coincided with what my audience wanted to see as conducted in my audience research.
Another reason I chose this as my film opening in particular is because we don't see many strong independent females even in 2016. Stereotypically our screens show predominantly male main characters but in this we see a female role take our screens. As our strong female hunts down her attempted killer she fights back in the perfect act to get revenge.
